What is the difference between NTAG213, NTAG215, and NTAG216? - Tap Tag
NFC tags with the NTAG213, NTAG215, and NTAG216 types are utilized in a range of applications, such as marketing, access control, and business cards. They can all be read and written to by any NFC-enabled device, like a smartphone via a free app, and are all based on the NFC Forum Type 2 Tag specification. We always advise downloading the NFC Tools app.

The following are some of the main distinctions between NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216:

Memory size: The NTAG213 has 144 bytes of memory, whereas the NTAG215 has 504 bytes. The memory size of the NTAG216 is 888 bytes.

Number of scans: The NTAG213 can endure up to 50,000 scans, whereas the NTAG215 can withstand up to 200,000 scans. 500,000 scan operations are no problem for the NTAG216.

Operating frequency: The 13.56 MHz frequency is the same for all three tags.

Read/write distance: Depending on the NFC reader and the surrounding conditions, NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216 all have a read/write distance of up to 4 cm.

Data retention: The 10-year data retention period applies to NTAG213, NTAG215, and NTAG216.

Data retention: The 10-year data retention period applies to NTAG213, NTAG215, and NTAG216.

Overall, the quantity of memory and the number of scan operations that each of the three NTAGs can sustain distinguish NTAG213, NTAG215, and NTAG216 from one another. The smallest memory size and most scan operations can be supported by NTAG213, whereas the greatest memory size and most scan operations can be supported by NTAG216.
